Social Shuffling

We love running, but we also love doing other things with our friends in the Shufflers.

We normally retire to a pub after a Tuesday run but outside the formal running group the following “gorilla groups” have formed that you’d be welcome to tag along to.**

Summer BBQ. Summer BBQs are normally held at the cruising club, costs are covered by a small charge and members of the club cook the food and staff the bar.

Pilates During term time there is a weekly Pilates session run one of our club, and attended by members who want to improve their core or something

Christmas Party. We gather for a traditional disco and few beers around Christmas time

Ski Trip: For many years a group of intreped Shufflers strap skis on and throw themselves down mountains, for fun apparently

Book Club: For those who want to do something social but want a 50% or better chance of still being able to walk at the end of the event the Shufflers have a very popular book club

Cycle group: For injured Shufflers or those to lazy to run there is a weekly Wednesday cycle ride, normally involving coffee and cake at some point

Annual Shuffler Running Weekend Away. Still in its infancy, but we select a marathon or other relevant physical event and make a weekend of it. Inverness marathon last year and the BT 3 peaks this year are proving to be a lot of fun.

** All of these events are laid on by members of the shufflers, we love the fact that the club does these social things but formally speaking they are not “part of the club”, in that they are not managed by the club committee or covered by our England athletics insurance. To that end all of these activities are done at your own risk … not sure the book club has much risk associated with it
