6 -6:45pm every Wednesday during term time.
A 45-minute session of running fun for children of all abilities from 8 years +.
We run an all-inclusive session, where children are encouraged to work as a team and support each other’s running efforts.
Our sessions consist of a warm up, followed by drills and various running games designed to develop speed and endurance and most importantly we aim to foster a sense of pride in the young people’s own achievements and that of their team mates.
The young athletes are encouraged to take part in the Suffolk Winter league cross country series, the Cross Country Champs and the Ekiden Relay.
From April to October, we meet and train at Woodbridge School Running Track or in the Woodbridge Rugby Club carpark for a forest trail run. October to April see us training on the Rugby Club pitches, making full use of the flood lights.
Our Junior Coach – Kate Hayward-Brackenbury holds the following England Athletics qualifications:
Athletics Coach Endurance, Coaching Assistant, Leadership in Running Fitness, Safeguarding in Athletics and a current DBS.
We use the booking app SPOND to advertise our weekly sessions and a link can be sent on request.
We offer our junior runners 3 free trial sessions before asking them to officially sign up as members and pay the annual subscription of £27.
