Shufflers at The Adnams 10K

Sunday 28th November saw the return of a local icon in the calendar; The Adnams 10k.

This race takes place in Adnams hometown, Southwold, and several Shufflers made the pilgrimage up the coast to take part.

We are certainly thrilled to see this race back; and a special congratulations to Ruth Acworth who won her age category, and Malcolm Pidd who came 2nd in his category.

Let there be light !

A massive thank you to Community Action Suffolk and East Suffolk Council for awarding us the fantastic Community Restart Grant with which we have purchased floodlights which illuminate our Junior Running group. We are very grateful for this amazing award.

Framlingham Cross Country

What a tremendous turn out for this season’s Framlingham cross country 8k race. It is the first in the series of six events.  We had a total of 23 senior runners and 1 junior runner taking part on what was a crisp sunny day.  We had representatives in all age categories with this being the largest turn out from the Shufflers in some time – well done team, great effort.

Marathon 2021

Wow! What an amazing effort from so many Shufflers over the weekend. We had a total of 13 members taking part, either virtually or at the event location, in one of several marathons; London, Hundon and Loch Ness.

We are immensely proud of their amazing achievements and have enjoyed listening to their accounts of the experience.

Well done to –

Annual cross the river run 2021

Check out this amazing video capturing our annual river crossing run! We start the run with a mud run followed by wading through the river Deben to then run 5 miles across the beautiful scenery of Woodbridge.

Celebrating 40 years of Shuffling

The Woodbridge 10k was unable to go ahead this following the pandemic; but the Shufflers (never ones to be put off) managed to pull together a celebratory relay race around Woodbridge instead followed by an evening of celebration.

As a team we completed 40 laps around Woodbridge for 40 years of the Club.

The race was an opportunity for the club to don their Woodbridge 10k prize t-shirts, both new and old, and do a victory lap around Woodbridge in pairs.

Our own Dave Alley kindly organised the setting up of a tent (see pics!) in Elmhurst Park and the many tent-manning-volunteers and runners as well.

The relay also proved to be a wonderful way to warm up for the birthday-bash-barbecue that was held later the same day down at the Cruising Club by the river to celebrate the clubs 40th year in action.

It’s been a difficult year for all of us; but as ever the team spirit of the Woodbridge Shufflers shone through from dusk till dawn on that glorious sunny August day.
