Would you like to take up running but don’t know where to start?
Would you like to be able to run a 5km parkrun or 10km race or run to improve your fitness?
The Woodbridge Shufflers will be running a 10 week beginners’ course starting in April 2016. This course is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who have wanted to take up running, but have found it difficult to get started.
What are the Aims of the Course?
The aim of the course will be to take you from beginner runner to being able to run a continuous 5km distance by the end of it. This will be done by gradually building up the distance over the duration of the course along with some fun training activities to improve your running. Throughout the course we will also give you general advice on a number of running topics and how to stay injury free.
When and Where will the Sessions Take Place?
The course will be held on Thursday evenings between 7:15-8:15pm beginning on the 7th April 2016. Sessions will be located at Woodbridge School in a safe, off-road environment and car-parking is available at the school.
Who Will Be Leading the Courses?
All the sessions will be led by England Athletic qualified coaches and run leaders.
What do I Need?
The great thing about running is that you don’t much need expensive equipment or clothing to get started. You will need a pair of running shoes that you feel comfortable wearing and your local sports shop should be able to provide with guidance on choosing these. You also need shorts or leggings and a top that are suitable for the weather and you may also want to get a waterproof running jacket for those rainy days.
How Much Will the Course Cost?
The course will cost £15 in total and is payable upfront.
