Club Runs

Whether you are just starting to run or have been running for many years you are very welcome to join us on one of our club runs.

If you are aiming to enter your first race or just wanting to run to improve your fitness then you will find people able to guide and assist you reach your goal. The club has members who have competed in events from 1 mile races, through 5km, 10km, half and full marathons, all the way up to 100 mile ultra marathons who are more than happy to share their advice and experience.

We meet as a club on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings. You can get further details on either session from the Club Secretary (

Tuesday Evenings

Our main club sessions are on Tuesday evenings and we meet just after 6:45pm at The Woodbridge Cruising Club which is situated on the river wall path between Woodbridge Station and the Boating Pond (please bring a torch in the winter months as the path is unlit) and a map showing the location is given below:

We offer a choice of two sessions and anyone can attend either session and in fact it would be good to sample both.

The first of these is the coached session which is led by one of our two experienced coaches (Jean Cox and Mark Vince) who are also on hand to give running and training advice. These sessions are for anyone keen to improve whether they be beginners or at an advanced level.

As an alternative to the coached session, we also offer a programme of informal runs. Again these sessions are suitable for runners of all abilities. Between September and March these runs also start at the Woodbridge Cruising Club, although during the Summer these runs will start at a variety of locations around the wider Woodbridge area – please check the Calendar for more details.

During the winter months and dark evenings, we require you wear hi-visibility clothing so that you can be easily seen as there is some road running within Woodbridge. A head-torch is also a useful addition to help you see where you are going.

Sunday Mornings

Sundays morning runs tend to be predominantly off-road and longer (10-12miles) although shorter options are typically available. These runs usually start at 8:30am from a variety of locations around East Suffolk and further details will be circulated on the club email list during the week before. If you aren’t currently on the email list, please check the Calendar or contact the Club Secretary ( for more information.
