The Woodbridge Shufflers will be holding the 34th annual 10km Round-the-Town Charity Road Race on Sunday 17th May and so that runners can participate safely we have to close some of the roads in Woodbridge temporarily.
The Advance Warning Leaflet that has been distributed to local residents and businesses shows where and when the road closures will be taking place and these are also summarised below:
- New Street and St Johns Hill will be closed between 11:45am and 12:15pm
- Burkitt Road, Angel Lane, Queens Head Lane, Thoroughfare, Church Street, Market Hill, Seckford Street, Drybridge Hill and Theatre Street will be closed between 12 noon and 1:45pm
- Ipswich Road, Station Road, Quayside and Lime Kiln Quay Road will be one way only between 12 noon and 1:00pm. All traffic emerging onto this section will be obliged to turn towards the Duke of York pub (Old Barrack Road)
The period of most traffic disruption will be between 12 noon and 1:15pm and we are hoping that motorists will be able to avoid driving in central Woodbridge or using Ipswich Rd/Station Rd between these times.
What makes the Woodbridge race so special for the 700 or so runners is the atmosphere and the tremendous support they always get from spectators so if you aren’t running we hope you will be able to come out and encourage the runners!
